Ralph &Joan Zurawski, Jake & Renee Little, Dr. Tomatsu,
and John Little with his Parents

Dr. Tomatus’s presentation was very informative with many questions from family, friends and even the Assistant Professor of neurology, a Dr. Guttuso from the University of Buffalo, a family friend who wanted to learn more about Morquio. We handed out copies of Dr. Tomatsu’s Assistant Research Scholar in his lab presentation for everyone to follow along. Olga Pena, Dr. Tomatsu’s, also spoke and presented at the meeting. Dr. Tomatsu also talked to each family individually to discuss their personal situation.

This event raised almost $20,000! Hard to believe this was Renee Little’s first attempt at it! She certainly has a lot of energy and drive. I feel very blessed that she decided to get involved and raise not only money but awareness too. Joan and Ralph Zurawski, Renee’s mom and dad, put up a booth at the local festival in town, to help sell tickets to the dinner and to raise awareness. Thank you so very much to all of the volunteers that helped to bring this together!

The Little family are now creating their own foundation, named after their son, Jake, called The Jacob Randall Foundation, www.jacobrandallfoundation.com, to also raise funds for Morquio Research. Below are some pictures from the fund-raiser.
